Lighting Contest Winners Announced

The Garden District Civic Association Holiday Lighting Committee is pleased to announce the following winners of the 2009 Annual Holiday Lighting Contest. Congratulations!

We hope that you will have time to drive through our neighborhood to see these and all the other wonderful lighting displays this year. Thanks to all who participated in this annual neighborhood event. Everyone appreciates your participation.

We appreciate the generous donations of area merchants for providing the prizes. These include donations from the Bloom Florist on Government Street, Chef Don Bergeron Enterprises on Jefferson Hwy, Rue Cou Cou on Government Street, and the Garden District Nursery on Government Street. Please join us in thanking the merchants for their generosity the next time you visit their places of business.

The committee would also like to thank those individuals who served as the judges for this year's contest. They include Gordon Mese of the Garden District Nursery on Government Street, Mary Ann Caffery of Caffery Gallery on Government Street, and Liz Walker of Elizabethan Gallery on Government Street.

The committee would also like to thank former GDCA Board member Mary Fontenot for assisting the committee in delivering the prizes on a very wet and rainy evening!
