As you may be aware, the Garden District Civic Association is in the process of a large-scale maintenance effort to care for our lovely neighborhood oak trees.
This work serves many purposes:
Removing dead branches, some of which can be quite heavy, reduces the risk of personal injury or property damage when these branches fall.
Well-maintained trees are healthier.
Clearing low-hanging branches keeps the sidewalks clear for neighborhood walkability and the roadways clear, such that tall vehicles are less likely to damage branches.
In short, this work contributes to the safety, comfort, and beauty of our neighborhood.
